Cleveland are using "black light
to detect otherwise invisible food
particles on cooking utensils, din
nerware and other kitchen equip
ment. ; ,
The Invisible ultraviolet rays
show that utensils may be dirty
even though under normal light
ing they appear to be fairly clean.
The researchers' take the pot to
be examined and treat It with a
non-toxic fluorescent dye. They
then rinse the pot in clean water
and examine it under "black
light-
Food particles absorb the dye
and fluoresce when exposed to the
invisible radiation.

tional, travelled 625 miles to make
a half-mile journey.
Hodgson, on a world tour of
Rotary clubs, visited Rotarians in
the Arab-held old city sector of
Jerusalem. When he tried to cross
into the Jewish sector, Hashemite
Jordan officials barred nun.
So Hodgson went back to Am
man, Damascus, Beirut and Nico
sia, Cyprus, and flew from there
to Lydda airport and Jewish Jer
