AUMSVTLLE The executive council of the Aumsville PTA
met at the Charles Wright home for its first meeting of the year,
Wednesday, September 13. Plans were made to hold its first regular
meeting on Friday, September 22, at 8 pjn. A reception will be held
for the teachers and between the hours of 8 and 9 pan. open house
will be held to enable parents to
meet the teachers.
Present at the meeting were the
president, Mrs. Charles Wright,
ice president, Mrs. Harry Way;
Ted Boehme and Roy Girod, prin
cipal and treasurer.
' Miss Vera a Lewis was met in
Portland Friday by her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C E. Lewis. She is
returning from a summer on the
European continent. She visited
Italy, France, Germany, Switzer
land and Holland.
Principal Roy Girod reports
the enrollment in the Aumsville
grade school at 186. The first
grade has 23 pupils, 2nd grade 27,
3rd grade, 23, 4th grade, 23, 5th
grade 25, 7th grade 43 and 8th
grade 27.
Cascade Union high school will
hold its dedication program and
teacher's reception, September 25,
at 8 p. m. Mrs. Agnes Booth, coun
ty school superintendent, will
make the dedication speech. Louise
Uhrhammer, school superintend
ent, will introduce the faculty,
school board, contractors and plan
ning board. The departments will
be open for inspection by parents
and friends.

Tuesday accepted the resignation
of James B. Gordon, city recorder
and .Gordon Skidmore was ap
pointed to replace him.
The election of three council
men will be held November 7.
Retiring councilmen are Ruber
Ray, Gates Cockran and Sam Pal-merton.

that John - Savage, a patient in
Memorial hospital there, has his
jaw set Tuesday night Instead of
the two breaks as was reported,
there were four. Savage's condi
tion is as good as can be expected.

IDANHA At the special meet
ing of the Detroit-Idanha school
board Monday night, Mrs. Freida
Wirt of Detroit was hired as cook
for the school cafeteria. Mrs. Wirt
will begin October 2.
