Buzz Fiorini, noted Washington
fishing guide and, spinning tackle
exhibitionist will make his Salem
appearance tonight at the Izaak
Walton league chapter clubhouse
located at 500 S. Cottage st, near
Mill creek. The demonstrations,
free to the public, will be given
at 5 and 7 pjn. Fiorini is from
Seattle and his visit is being spon
sored by . the numerous fishing
tackle dealers in Salem.
, The visitor will use spinning
tackle and will show how to cast
both overhand and sidearm for ac
curacy, and also for distance. He
will also give many valuable tips
on catching fish with spinning
gear.

general buying sent prices up at
the board of trade today, after
corn had resisted declines in oth
er pits early in the session.
At the close, wheat was 1 to
2 higher, corn was Its to 1
higher, oats -were to 1 high
er, rye was 1 to 1 higher,
soybeans were 11V to 4 Vi higher,
and lard was 3 cents a hundred
weight higher to 3 cents lower.
Wheat was aided early in the
session by some mill buying' and
prospects of export business. Af
ter corn refused to decline com
mission houses started fairly heavy
buying and a firm to strong tone
continued to the close.

Rally Saves
Stock Losses
NEW YORK, June 20-(ff)-The
stock market staged a slow-motion
rally today following a short but
severe morning trouncing.
Losses outnumbered gains by a
heavy margin "at the final belL
Closing prices were at or near the
best levels of the day, however,
and most declines were limited to
fractions.
Trading hit a fast clip during
the morning drop but slowed on
the way back. The flurry of ac
tivity lifted sales to 1,470,000
shares from 1,290,000 Monday.
The Associated Press average of
60 stocks lost 2 of one point at
78, a low since May 15. The Indus
trial group was solely responsible
for the drop. Rails were unchanged
on average and utilities a trifle
higher.
The market was narrow with
only 1,112 individual issues trad
ed. Of these 553 were marked
down and 270 improved.
