1 !' Bull Market Moves Stocks To New Highs j ' NEW YORK, April 12 -JP). The! bull stock market got back in the groove today after Tuesday's up-! set and reached a new 3 -year peak. ; Final prices were up fractions to an extreme of around 3 points. From then on the direction was forward al though progress at times was slow. Closing quotations were tops for the session in most cases. Hard-hitting demand . for air era rt stocks started the market rolling ahead. Buying power soon spread into other groups including the reluctant rails. A notable angle of the market's attern was the pink-up In interest n low-priced shares. Of the 15 most active stocks, only five sold bout $20 a share. Trading was fastest in the morn ing and again in the final hour. Sales piled up to 2,010,000 shares, exactly even with Tuesday and the fourth time in a row that bus iness in a full session has totaled t.OOO.OOa or more shares. The Associated Press average of 0 stocks moved up .7 of one point to 76.2, a peak since Aug. 20, 1946. Only the rail group failed to reach a high for two or more years al though the gap was a small one. A total of 1.132 individual stocks changed hands, of which 683 ad vanced and 211 declined.
