Many Leave on
Spring Trips,
Others Return
Travelers continue to come and
go with several arriving home this
week from extended trips. With
the public schools closing this week
for soring vacation a number of
families are taking the opporttm
lty for trips to the beach, moun-
. tains and even farther.
Mr. and-Mrs. W. W. Rosebraugb
re home from a fortnight's trip
to Carmel Valley. Returning home
with them for a visit were their
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Rosebraugh of New
York City, ,
Mrs. William H. Lytic returned
io the capital on Tuesday from a
trtp to the Hawaiian Islands. She
made the trip both ways on the
Lurline and spent most of her
time in Honolulu, flying over, to
the Island of Hawaii. Mrs. Lytic
was met on arriving in th is
lands by her brother-in-law said

Mrs. A. Terrence King and chil
dren, Jimmy, Al and Carolyn, will
spend the coming week at Suttle
Lake lodge-where they will, enjoy
seme skiing. Joining them for part
of the week, will be Dr. and Mrs.
Staurt Lancefield and children,
Neil and Margaret.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Loder and
eon, Peter, art entraining today
for Los Angeles and other southern
points.. They will drive home, stop
ping in LaJolla and Camel for short

Plans are being completed for
the Governor's state conference on
Children and Youth to be held at
the state capital building on April
13 and 14, which will attract over
a thousand people to Salem from
throughout the state and well
known educators and speakers.
Governor Douglas McKay has
appointed Miss Dorathea Steus
loff as chairman of the hostess
committee, which' met Thursday
to outline plans for the two day
conference. Assisting Miss Steus
loff on the hostess committee are
