Archie Brown of Dallas, recently underwent an ap pendectomy at the Bartell hospital in Dallas. He is reported recov ering satisfactorily. LeRoy Holmes,. grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes has en rolled in Pioneer school. Seven pupils are now enrolled in the 8th grade. Ronald Dodge of Turner, grand son of Mr- and Mrs. Frank Dorn hecker of Pioneer and Mr. 'and Mrs. Seth Dodge of Spring Valley, returned to his home this week after undergoing a tonsilectomy in Dallas. Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, newly-weds from Mansing, Idaho, have -moved into the Ed Smith home here. The George Chaney family, which lost their home by fire, have been living in the home, but with the help of neighbors and churches in Dallas, have moved Into their new nine-room house at the site of their old home. BAZAAR SUCCESSFUL PEDEE A : large Tcrowd at tended the bazaar given by the Pedee Woman's club Thursday and net proceeds were $141. The money will be used to refinish the in terior of the clubhouse. Funeral services will be held from the Weddle Funeral home here Fri day, November 23, "at 2 p.m. In terment will follow in the Fair view -cemetery near Gates. The Rev. Willard Buckner, pastor of the Stayton Baptist church, will officiate. Wilkinson-, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkinson of Marion, was born at Mill City June 17, 1928. Surviving besides the parents are his wife, Juanita, Dexter; a 12-day-old son; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Chance, Sweet Home, and Mrs. Hope Ruggles, Marion; five brothers, Douglas, Sweet Home, Kenneth, Vallejo, Calif., William and Wayne, Mar Jon, and Keith Wilkinson, Salem, and an aunt, Mrs. Zoma Baldwin, Stayton, Minnie Syhre SJLVERTON Minnie Syhre, 4l,died Wednesday night at Sil verton hospital w here she was taken following a stroke. Meeker furnished trucks and drivers to deliver the paper to Independence. The boys raised about $25 through the drive. The money will be used to purchase two tents for an overnight' camp ing kit in preparation for an over night hike during Christmas va cation. The event-starred with the morning service and all available table space was filled at the picnic dinner in the social hall. Colorful autumn decorations. including an overflowing horn of pienxy,. were proviaea by circle 2 of the Women's Society of World Service. The pastor, the Rev. Fremont Faul, spoke on the theme, "Faith of Our Fathers." Special music was featured. Under leadership of H. W. Torbet, many of the old timers told of incidents in the early history of the church. Also featured was a disDlav of pictures of church life in former years, corsages were presented to Mrs. J. P. Allison of Portland: Mrs. Henry Jones of McMinnviBe; Mrs. J. Giffin of Oregon City; Mrs. Jennie Meeker of woodland, Wash., and a number of others.
