STAYTON An organizational
meeting for a beginners band will
be held at the Stay ton high school
Monday, September 19, at 8 pjn.,
according to D. J. Burgess, instruc
tor of music, for the public schools.
Instruments available on the
rental plan will be on display and
questions regarding the program
will be answered at that time.
A music aptitude test has been
given to all students in the sixth,
seventh and eighth grades, and to
the members of the fifth grade
who indicated an interest
Instruction will be free and wfll
be given during the regular school
day, Mr. Burgees said. The ad
vanced band now has 20 members,
