Grain futures
Stand Firm
CHICAGO, Sept 17--Grain
futures were firm today, with
wheat advancing almost a . cent
a bushel. Soybeans gained nearly
two cents. -.
Wheat closed unchanged to Ts
cents higher than the .i previous
: finish, corn was unchanged to i Vs
tip, oats were unchanged to- V
higher rye was up to 3,i, soy
beans gained 4 to Hi, and lard
was 3 to 7 cents a hundred pounds
higher.
Exports of domestic wheat dur
ing July and August were esti
mated at 56,000,000 bushels, about
17,000,000 under the same period
"last year but double the 1943-47
average. ,

Dallas, who died unexpectedly
Saturday at a Dallas hospital,
will be held at 2:30 pjn. Sunday

Henkle and Bollman funeral

be in Falrview cemetery with the
IOOF lodge conducting graveside
services.
Mason was born at Findley,
Ohio, February 1, 1882, the son
of George and Amanda Jane Ma
son. He was married to Louise
Mahler there in 1901. Mrs. Mason
died in 1923. Mason later moved
west and on September 27, 1935
was married to Rillie E. Wilson
at Vancouver, Wash.
, A sawmill planerman. Mason
was a resident of Mill City before
moving to Dallas. He was a mem
ber of the Christian church, IOOF
and Maccabees.
Besides the widow, he is sur
vived! by sons, Donald Mason
Wapato. Wash, and Paul Mason,
Mill City; daughters, Mrs. Ethel
Harrington, Silverton and Mrs.
Bernice Conklin. Banks; brother,
Perry Mason. Mill City and sev
eral grandchildren.
