Miss Ruth
Hughlett
A Bride
Miss Ruth Hughlett is now Mrs.
Bob Lee Smith and the couple's
future home will be Portland. The
marriage ceremony took place
Saturday night at the First Con
gregational churcb at 9 o'clock
with Dr. Seth Huntington orficiat
Ing. Roses were ararnged at the
altar and white satin bows caurht
with clusters of rotes marked the
pews.
In mist pink dimity frocks with
multi-colored ribbon sashes were
Patricia Hughlett and Judith Lee
Query who lighted the tapers. They
wore headbands of Cecille B run
ner roues and wristlets of the jame
flower. Robert Gwinn sang and
Jean Hobson Rich played the wed
ding music.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. II. -W. Hughlett, was given in
marriage by her father. Her bridal
gown was of white slipper satin
designed with a high neckline and
net yoke and wide lace bertha. The
full skirt terminated in a train
and a peplum formed a bustle in
back, Her fingertip veil had been
worn by her mother and sister at
their weddings and fell from an
orsnce blossom tiara with clusters
of the blossoms at each side. She
caried a bouquet of pink roses and
white bouvardia.
Mivi Charlotte Reeves, who will
be married next Saturday, westhe
honor attendant and wore a sea
green dimity frock enhanced with
a br-rtba of green lace and a full
skirt. She carried Cecile Brunner
roe and bouvardia tied with
matching net. Ricky and Jack Que
ry were the ring bearers and were
dreed in white linen suits with
bachelor hut ton boutonnieres.
Robert Nelson was best man and
Ushers were Edward A. Peterson,
Corvallis, Harold and William Mu
chow and Robert Macnamara.
Mrs. Hughlett selected an aqua
dress with grey accessories and
corsage of pink rotes for the wed
ding. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. L. Smih
of Portland were down for their
son's nuptials and she wore a sea
green dress with white accessories
and cornage of white roses.

At the reception in the fireplace
room of the church Mrs. W. A.
Reeves poured coffee and Mrs.
.Harold Lamb presided at the
punch bowl. Cutting the cake was
the bride's sister, Mrs. E. A. Pe
terson (Margaret Hughlett) of
Corvallis, assisted by Mrs. Floyd
Query. Assisting were the Misses
Beverly Nelson, Barbara tlalvar
son, Doris Hale, Mrs. , William E.
II iU and Mrs, Dale Pence.
Mr. Smith and hp j bride will
spend their ' honeymoon on the
Oregon coast and for going away
she wore a navyJ blue suit with
box style suit, pink blouse and
navy hat with pink flowers ad
orning one side Her accessories
were pink and nary and she wore
white orchids. The couple will live
in Portland at 4M5 NJ E. Mallory.
Reunion at
Gatke's
Willamette university class of
1919 will hold a reunion on Sun
day night at the borne of Dr. and
Mrs. Robert-Moulton Gatke. Those
attending are to be Miss Caroline
Sterling, Wena tehee, i Mrs. Faye
Welle Lien, Corvallis, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry. Baughman, Lake
Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wil
son, Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan
Had ley, Albany, Miss Glenna Tee
ters and Miss Mary Parounagian,
Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Elli
ott, Roseburg. Mr. and Mrs. Wil

and Mrs. Thomas Rowe, Gaston,

lem. The Henry Millies were hosts at
an informal get-together of the
group after -the alumni banquet on
Saturday night.
To Honor Senior
Rainbow Girls
Chawick j assembly, Order of
the Rainbow for Girls, will have
a picnic supper before the meet
ing on Tuesday, June 13, at the.
Masonic temple. The supper will
be at 6:30 p. m.
A short business meeting will
be held immediately after the sup
per, and a degree will be put on
for all members of Rainbow who
have just graduated from Salem
high school. Twenty - eight girls
will receive this degree.

have returned from a ten day stay
in San Francisco and Oakland,
Calif., where they visited his sis
ters, Mrs. A. G. Gideon and Mrs.
Grace Zeberg.

Married
Pink, orchid and green were the
colors of Miss Mary Edith Rei
mann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Leo Detrich Reimann selected for
her wedding Saturday night when
she became the bride of Oscar Carl
Christensen, jr.. son of the Oscar
C. Christen sens. It was at 8 o'clock
that the Rev. J. R. TurnbuU per
formed the ceremony at the First
Baptist church.
The altar was banked with bou
quets 'of pink and orchid flowers
with candles arranged in the win
dows. Miss Beverly Kenney sang
and Miss Minnie Miller was the
organist
Of white nylon organdy was the
bridal' gown, fashioned with lego-mutton
sleeves and lace appli
que Oil the bodice.' The skirt of
wide impressed pleats was entrain
and over a boop. Her illusion fin
gertip veil cascaded from a bon
net of the illusion embellished
with seed pearls. She carried a
white fan adorned with pink and
orchid roses and bouvardia. Mr.
Reimann gave bis daughter in
marriage.
. Preceding the bride to the altar
was her sister. Miss Shir lee Rei
mann, as maid of honor, and the
Misses Mary Lou McKay, Nancy
Connelly and Sara Mae Addis, as
bridesmaids for their Kappa Kap
pa Gamma sorority sister. They
all wore frocks styled identical
with hoop skirts caught up in
front with flowers, berthas and
marquisette yokes. The honor at
tendant wore pale green taffeta
and the bridesmaids were in or
chid. They all had matching gloves
and carried fans of roses and bou
vardia with coronets of the flow
ers in their hair.

Mrs. Reimann chose an aqua
marquisette and lace gown with
white gloves for her daughter's ;
nuptials. Mrs. Christensen wore a
dusty pink crepe gown with grey
gloves for the wedding. Both wore
pink flowers in their hair.
The reception followed in the
churcb parlors. Mrs. Dorothy Ege
cut the cake and pouring were Mrs.
Jack Stump of Monmouth and Mrs.
Elise Leeckley, Corvallis, Kappa
Kappa Gamma house mother. As
sisting were the Misses Carolyn
Davis, Jean Hatfield. Lucille Kol
etson, Portland, Jerry Trapman,
Portland, Marianne Bones tee le and
Valda Wold. The groom's sisters.

of Portadaun, North Ireland, for

bride of Robert Wayne Price, son
of Mrs. Wayne M. Price and the
late Mr. Price. Dr. Chester W.
Hamblin officiated at the nuptials
before members of the immediate

south to California on their wed
ding trip. For the summer the
newly weds will be at home in Cor
vallis and in the fall will move to
Eugene, where they will attend
the University of Oregon.

marriage.
Miss Marjorie Price, sister of
the groom, was the honor attend
ant and wore a forest green aft
ernoon dress with sequin trim and
a black picture hat. She carried a
prayer book and wore a corsage of
pastel carnations. James Zigler
stood with the groom as best man.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Barbour of Por
tadaun. North Ireland and she has
a brother David. The benedict's
mother wore a two-piece grey suit
Lions Meeting ' '
At Forkner's
Hollywood Lions will meet on
Wednesday at 8:30 at the home of
Mrs. R. A. Forkner. 1855 North
Capitol street. Installation of of
ficers is scheduled.
