Kverett A, DeVinney
SILVEKTON Funeral services
for Everett Aaron DeVinney, 76,
who died Monday at the Silver
ten hospital, will be held Wed
neiday at 2 p m. at the Memorial
chapel of the Ekman funeral
home. Burial will be in Silverton
, cemetery.
DeVinney came here In 1942
and had been employed by the city
as park and municipal swimming
"pool superintendent.
Survivors are the widow, Josie,
twa- daughters, Ethel M. Hand
ley of Santa Monica, Calif.; Marie
Parker. Vallier, Mont.; two sons,
Clyde J. of Williams. Mont ; Ray
E. of Silverton: five grand chil
dren and two great grand children.
McMinnville Donald G. Mader
of McMinhvjlle route, 3, recently
visited the U. S. Naval academy at
Annapolis. Md.. aboard the de
stroyer USS Henley. Mader is a
quartermaster, tecond class, in the
regular navy.
Bethel J. G. Lauderback,
Bethel district dairy farmer, is In
Salem General hospital undergoing
tests for an illness. Because he
has been unable to secure help to
operate his farm, his stock will
be sold In an auction Thursday,

will hold its annual picnic on Wed
nesday, June 1, at the school. Par
ents and neighbors are invited to
attend, and preschool children are
especially invited. Parents are
asked to bring a family, picnic
lunch and their service.

Hold Picnic
TURNER Turner high school's
band and glee club closed a suc
cessful year Tuesday with a picnic
and swim at Dallas park.
Buses and private cars took the
entire student body of the high
school to Avery park at Corvallis
Friday for an all-day picnic,
swimming, boating and ball games.

extension unit was held Friday in
