For Fair, Picnic
PEDEE Six locals were repre
sented at the Polk county Farm
ers' union quarterly meeting Wed
nesday at. Ballston.
Reports of local activities and
State convention were given.
Topics for discussion included pub
lic utility districts, taxes, county
roads and legislation. County
committee chairmen reports were
by A. G. Rempel, legislative; Mrs.
Sidney Howard educational; Joe
Van Well, cooperative.
L. H. McBee. member of the
Polk county fair board, told of
plans being formulated for the
county fair in Monmouth.
Charles Ray. C. L. Gilson and
Russell Alsip were named a com
mittee to plan the county picnic
June 28 at Buell park.
The July 13 meeting will be
held with the Mt. Pisgah local as
host for an evening session.
