Seabees to
Form Reserve
A campaign to recruit 75,000
skilled construction men as stand
by reserves for Seabes has been
launched by the navy. Recruits
enlist in the inactive volunteer
reserve for call to active duty
only in the event of national
emergency.
Recruits will receive full navy
credit for the kind and amount
of their civilian experience, fol
lowing the precedent set during
the early months of World War
II. The new standby force will
be In addition to the authorized
organized reserve units of Seabees.
Standbv recruits will nnt roiu
pay unless-they volunteer for two
weexs annual training duty. About
