The finance committee is in charge. s: l Girl Scout Camp Plans Outlined Plana are rapidly taking shape for Girl Scouts camping at Smith Creek this summer, according to Mrs. W. D. Sloper, Santiam Area camp chairman. The camp, owned by the state of Oregon will be rented by the Council from July 1 to August 21. Pre-camp training will start for staff members on July f, and camp sessions will start on July 10. This year's schedule will include 2 one-week sessions for Brownie Scouts,! 2 one-week sessions for intermediate scouts, and one two-week session for in termediate and senior scouts. This summer's schedule will allow for about 08 more campers to enjoy camp life than was possible last year. Girls are already savins for camp with camp savings stamps In many troops, ; and troops are electing representatives to meet as Junior Camp committee to make suggestions for the camp program. Camp program this summer will stress outdoor hiking and camping overnight. Girl Scouts of Salem arc also planning day camping to sup plement the established camp. The camp committee is asking for contributions toward a camper ship fund so that deserving girls who are unable to pay all the camp fee may be enabled to attend camp.
