Dorrs Together Fifty Yedrs, BETHEL, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Darr, formerly of this district, now residing in Salem, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday afternoon when they were honored with a reception in the parlors ' of Leslie Methodist church of which they have been members for many years. Their children planned the - event and all were present except Mrs. Clarence Weber (LeJsla) of Rock Island, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Sam R.. Darr and daughters, Erxna and Arlene of Salem. Mr. and -Mrs. Chester Whitney (Ruth) of Sweet Home, Mrs. K. A. Johnson (Frances) and son, Ernest Ostrin of Milwaulde, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Reschke (Mildred) of Trout- dale were present. Also attending were Mrs. Darrs brother-in-law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. M. C Miller of Raymond, Wash., and Mr. Darr! nieces and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Palmer of Portland and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jeter of Albany. The serving table was centered with Talisman rosebuds, yellow tulips and acacia in gold contain ers and guarded by gold tapers Mrs. E. D. Roseman cut the cake, Erma Darr - served the punch, Diane Karsten and Leona Stroade assisted. Arlene Darr was in charge of the guest book. Skating Star Visits Salem 7 Phillip Schwartz, who skates professionally as Phillip Rich ards, and George Arnold weca in Salem briefly Wednesday visit ing young Schwartz' mother. Phillip Richards has been booked as a star for the past 18 months with Arnold's "Carnival on Ice," which Just completed six weeks in Sacramento and will open for an encasement uVPalm Springs on March 8. The young Salem skater, a for mer high school student, became (star on his first booking, and as appeared in many leading west coast cities, including a 18 week stand at Club Lido in Long Beach. He recently starred in a television ,show. Arnold and Richards were en route to Seattle to arrange for bookings there before returning to California. Weavers Meet Salem Weavers Guild, meeting t the YMCA Wednesday after noon was invited to the C. A. Kells home for a covered dish luncheon and business meeting on April 7.
