Market Quiet; Prices Steady NEW YORK, Feb. 14- (P) -Stocks took a rest today in a quiet market with prices just a shade on the higher side. An early recovery movement faded out in late trading with quotations dropping back small fractions at a time. Nevertheless, the performance of the market as a whole was re garded as a demonstration of re sistance to the generally down ward movement experienced most of last week. The market was the narrowest and trading of 700,000 shares was the lightest of any full session this month. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks which remained un changed at 62.1, the lowest the average has been since last March.
