Before a spring setting at the
North Capitol street home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy YVas
tem, Miss Mildred" Wassam be
came the bride of David E. Hille
rich, son of Hite Hillerich of Ar
lington, Thursday night. The Rev.
Brooks Moore of the First Metho
dist church performed the 7 o'
clock nuptials before members of
the two families and a few fri
ends. Mrs. Malcolm Ramp sang "At
Dawning" and played the wedding
music. Mrs. Chester Howe lighted
the tapers and wore a navy blue
suit with corsage of pink camel
lias and hyacinths. The couple ex-1
changed their vows before the fire
place which was banked with ar
rangements of heather, huckleber
ry and white ribbon streamers and
bows.
Mr. Wassam gave his daughter
In marriage and for her wedding
he chose frost green wool suit
fashioned with single breasted
Jacket. Her accessories were bal
enoasa and her white felt hat
was adorned with a balenciaga
veiL She carried a nosegay of white
bouvardia, stephanotis and narcis
sus centered with green orchids.
Miss Nancy West of Berkeley,
Calif., aad at student at Oregon
6Ute college was her aunt's only
attendant. She wore a forest green
suit and matching hat with gold
trim and mink brown accessories.
She carried a- nosegay of salmon
pink roses and bouvardia. Jack
Larsen stood with the groom as
best man.
For her daughter's nuptials Mrs
Wassam wore a blue print after
noon dress and corsage of yellow
roses. Mrs. Louis West of Berke
ley came north for her sister's
marriage and will remain for a
week.
At the reception Mrs. Malcolm
Fimp poured and Mrs. Glenn Hol
ms o cut the cake. Assisting were
lrs. Theodore Kerr and Mrs. Nor
man Schnoebelin. Ann Erickson
passed the guest book.
After a trip along the Oregon
coast the newlyweds will be at
borne in Salem at 1065 Madison
street. For traveling the bride wore
a fur coat over her suit to which
wai pinned green orchids.

Theme of Party
A Bit o' Sweden" will be the
theme of the party for" the Baptist
Youth of the First Baptist church
Saturday, January 22 at 8:30 p.
m. All the members of the Youth
group and their friends are in
vited. The regular meeting room
of the group in the church base
ment will be transformed into a
Swedish peasant's home. Swedish
motifs and snow equipment for
winter months will add to the de
corations. Each person is to wear
costume pertaining to the coun
try of Sweden, like that of the I
Swedish peasant folkj j !
During the evening a social hour ' :

be held. Later, before the Swed
