Bishop Talks
To Methodists
fmpharinng that quantity means
nothing without quality , Bishop
Gerald Kennedy outlined the op
portunities and the needs jof the
coming four-year program at the
Salem district Methodist confer
ence here Thursday evening.
The new bishop of the Portland
area declared the church must fol
low the example of its founder,
John Wesley, and go to the people
rather than wait for them to come.
And then, he added, it must "pro
vide warm fellowship inside."
The task of laymen Bishop Ken
nedy described as "seeing that the
pastor does succeed."
