He succeeds Theodore B. Wilcox, who has headed, the show organization for 18 years. Wilcox became chairman of the board. The Board said expenses re sulting from the Columbia river flood were $46,755 and put the exposition in the "red" for the year. The amount was not an nounced. Statesman staff photographer.) j Elks Collect Clothing for Needy Persons Plans for the annual Christmas activities of Salem lodge, BPO Elks No. 336 are complete with a basement full of clothes ready to be given to needy persons this week end and a Christmas party for 1,000 children December 24. Racks full of men, women and children's clothing and garments re to be given to any needy per sons this Friday, Saturday and Monday. Every type of clothing is represented and has been cleaned, pressed and readied for distribu tion. Friday morning, December 24, a special Christmas show will be .held at the Capitol theater for bout 1,000 children- After the how the youngsters will be taken to the Elks lodge for presents and treats from Santa Claus.
