Brush College Club
Sends Box Overseas
BRUSH COLLEGE Christmas
gift wrapping and centerpiece
construction were demonstrated
by Mrs. Clarence Woelk and Mrs.
Lawrence McClure, meeting with
Brush College Helpers club at
Mrs. W. A. Lantis.
Project for the year is sending
a box overseas each month to a
German soldier, Claus Meyers and
family, with whom Lawrence Mc
Clure became friends while sta
tioned there during the war. A
Christmas box was sent the fam
ily last month.
The Christmas party of Brush
College Helpers club will be held
at Vans school of dancing, West
Salem, Saturday at 8 p.m.

urday for pre-Christmas dinner
and tree with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Paul McKee. McKees
will spend Christmas with Mr.
and Mrs. Chester Miller at Albany.
Mrs. Harry McKee brought Joe
McKee from Bend last weekend.

(wimp, she'd had enough! Going
home, Slim reminded her good
naturedly of the time she'd taken
him to a woman novelist's lecture,
and insisted that he sit it out
So now the missus and Slim have
an understanding. No more duck
hunting for her no more lectures
for him. They decided each to hi

Plans Holiday Program

Valley Junior Farmer's union and
local children will present a Christ
mas program at the Spring Valley
Farmer's Union meeting at Zena
schoolhouse Friday, December 17
at 8 p.m.
Carols will be sung by a mixed
chorus. Mrs. James S. Smart is ac
companist. Program committee in
cludes Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carr, Mr.
