Troop Holds
Investiture
AUBURN Investiture services
were held Monday afternoon for
three members of the Auburn
Brownie troop at the home of their
leader, Mrs. S. M. Burns.
Receiving pins were Arlene Ma
ss, Jeanette Winters and Sandra
Maas. Three other members who
should have pins will receive
theirs at the next meeting as they
were unable to attend Monday.
They are Janice Anstine, Sharon
Anstine and Phyllis Bunch.
The girls are now making pres
ents for their mothers at their
Monday afternoon meetings. They
have exchanged names for gifts,
and will have a Christmas party
on Sunday afternoon, December
19thwith their mothers as guests.
They have each brought a Christ
mas package for the children at
Fairview home.

kima which was held last week.
For the third successive year he
won a championship ribbon on his
exhibit of bantams, this year it
was for his Rose Comb White Leg
horn bantam hen, in 1945 and 1947
he took championship for his
Black Rose Comb bantam cock
erel. On his standard bred White
Leghorns he took lt. 2nd, 3rd
nd 4th for cockerels. Besides the
championship in Rose Comb White
Leghorn, bantam, he took first for
tockerel, 1st and 2nd for pullet
nd 1st for young hen.
He won 1st and 2nd on the two
Black Rose Comb bantam cock
erels, first on a hen. and 2nd, 3rd,
4th. 5th and 6th on his five cock
erel entries, and 3rd and 5th on
two pullets, 1st and 2nd on an old
trio, and first on young trios.
Jeanne Sane? Weber
HAYES VILLE Word has been
received here by Mrs. Ruth S.
Reynolds that her sister, .Mrs.
Jeanne Saucy Weber, of Court,
Switzerland died December 7.
Bom June 20, 1902 in Moutier,
Switzerland and in 1910 she
moved with her parents and fam
ily to Portland. Ore They moved j 8
to Salem in 1911 and to Hayes- , g
ville in 1912 where the family
have resided since.
Mrs. Weber was graduated from
Hayesville school, later attended
McMinnville (Linfield) college. In
1926 she wa graduated from the
Bible Institute of Lbs Angeles and
went to become a missionary with
the Belgium Gospel Mission.
After five years she left Belgium
and married the Rev. Henri Weber
in Switzerland. Last summer she
had completed arrangements for a
visit here but she underwent a
major operation from the effects
of which she later died.
Survivors are the widower and
five children of Court. Switzer
land; her father, Charles D. Saucy,
sr.; sisters, Mrs. Ruth S. Reynolds,
Mrs. Madeleine Berger; three
brothers, Pierre and Marc Saucy
of Hayesville and David Saucy of
Polk County Community
Chest to End Campaign
DALLAS Community Chest
committee will close the drive De
cember 31.
The treasurer's report on Decem
ber 9 showed $9426.32 contributed
t date. With the $1080 quota to
be received from West Salem and
contributions that may be receiv
ed before the closing date, the
committee will put $300 from the
emergency fund and u-e the total
as a basis for pro-rating the
amounts the participating agencies
will receive. The county quota was
$13,000.

Rickman, Elmer Baker.
The Four Corners Fireman's
auxiliary met at the community
hall December to make plans for
their annual Christmas party and
treat for all children of the com
munity. The party will be held at the
community hall December 3. Part
of the program will include mov
ing pictures. Hostesses at the meet
ing were Mrs. Waldo Miller and
Mrs. Kenneth La Branch.
