A list of legion national object ives, voted at the Miami conven tion, was received by B. E. "Kel ler" Owens of Salem, Oregon de partment commander. The Miami conclave also adopted a streamun ed $3,500,000 budget. The legion will seek congression 1 action on raising payments to disabled veterans and to widows of veterans and their dependents. Other objectives are relief in vet erans housing problems, and a pension plan. The national department of the Legion also favors legislation call Jng for military' training, enact ment of an anti - communist bill similar to the , Mundt-Nixon bill and for continuation of tha con gressional un-American activities committee. East Salem Family Has Holiday Dinner Party EAST SALEM Mr. and Mrs William Judson entertained for Thanksgiving dinner this year at their Salem home on Sunday Present were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wood, their son Howard and their house guests, his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood from Palm Springs, Calif. A cub pack also is being formed by the improvement club, accord ing to its, president, Mrs. Vernon Poole. The pack is expected to get under way within a few weeks. Louis E. The troop meets each Monday night at the Valsetz school. 10 Children Eacape Injury as Car Capsizes VANCOUVER, B. C, Nov. 25 (CP)- Ten children miraculously escaped injury Wednesday when their kindergarten station wagon overturned after a traffic collision, rolled three times and stopped on its side against a telephone pole. Five-year-old Teddy Izen and Mrs. Arthur Kelly were the only ones treated for minor bruises. The other children clambered from the overturned wagon unharmed.
