Grain Market Shows Strong CHICAGO, Nov. 16 -VPfr A strong grain market developed to day when traders received reports of new family flour bookings on broad scale. Flour mills an nounced that the price of family flour would be advanced 10 cents a hundredweight at the opening of the market tomorrow. A strong closing rally resulted from the flour announcement pushing wheat prices up to around the highest levels since last April. December wheat closed .. 7 cents higher than the loan level. The spurt in wheat carried oth er futures except lard 'to around the top mark for the day. At the close wheat was to 2 V4 cents higher than yesterday's finish, December $2.36i-. Corn was 1 cent to IV higher, Decem ber $1.43-. Oats were to Vi higher. December s 1.81V. Soybeans were 1 to AVk higher. November $2.68, and lard was 2 cents a hundredweight lower, November S 18.70-75. Stock Market Closes Higher NEW YORK, Nov. 16 -JPy- The stock market showed another av erage gain today In the face of a last - hour volley of selling. Closing prices were up by frac tions to 2 points or more. The late selling, though, chipped away at many of the day's best gains and carried some stocks into lower ground. A good - sized sprinkling of losses, mostly fractional, dotted the price list. Trading' carried on at a good clip with total turnover at 1, 060,000 shares, about even with Monday's 1,030,000. Thus far in November every full day has top ped 1,000,000 shares.
