week the slaughter by dogs of four
sheep and two young goats and
the crippling of six other sheep on

Thursday by the Salem army and
ir force recruiting office. Parks,
a veteran of World war II, was

Leslie Junior Red Cross mem
bers are preparing to send gift
boxes overseas for Christmas. The
students sent 37 boxes last year
and are planning to send 50 for
this Christmas. The boxes include
toys, trinkets, soap, crayon and
other articles.
Junior Red Cross delegates from
Leslie gave a skit entitled "How to
Make a Million Friends" at the
district convention in Corvallis
last weekend. Delegates were Del
ton Miller, Barbara Wagness,
Carolyn Seay and David Rhoten.
