lation and Mrs. Ban explained
how money cleared at the Carni

of this will be clear. Part will be

nomics room in the new school
building. The rest will be used

Swegle Scouts
SWEGLE The first scout
troops for the district in several
years have been organized with
the PTA as sponsor.
Swegle Brownie. Scout troop 12
is led by Mrs. HilLard Hanson and
Mrs. Roy Adamson. Meetings for
the new troop are once a week at
Mrs. Hanson's on Garden Road.
Members are Sarolyn Alsman,
Barbara Reams, Janice Casey. Be
verly Hanson, Ann Yost, Nancy
Bates. Carrol Jean Adamson. Ros
lie West, Nancy Painter. Yvonne
Ellis, Gerry Dell Lewis, Viola May
Yost. Sandra Wilkinson, Pat Go
shell. Donna Fetch.
Girl Stouts are led by Mrs. Ma
rion West and they are working
on their first merit badge. Mem
bers are Shirley Brick. Marilyn
Benson, Eleanor Berry. Zettie
Patterson, Wanda Laptn. Janice
Isom, Beverly Shultz, Ellen Shep
herd. Sharteen Simons and Anna
May West.
Swegle Scouts will take part in
a Scout program at Leslie junior
high October 31 at 3 p. m. along
with all the Scouth of Salem to
celebrate the birthday of Juliette
Low, founder of Girl Scouts.
Carolyn Alsman will represent
the Swegle Brownie troop.
Friday the girls make a trip to
the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall
in Salem to take part in the "Sing
and Swing Jamboree," Scouts one
week, BTOwnies the next.
