Braves Holmes tapped Lemon's pitch
back to the mound and was an easy
out. Dark laid down a we II -placed sur
prise bunt down the third-base line
and easily beat Lemon's frantic under
hand throw to font for an infield sin
gle. The throw got by Robinson but
Cordon prevented any advance by
up the play in fine fashion.
Tucker made a fine running catch of
Toige son's looping fly in shallow right
center and with a quick throw on one
bounce to Robinson doubled Dark off

SECOND INNING
Indians Tucker fouled to Elliott near
the Braves dugout. Stanky snared Rob
inson's low line drive off the ground.

Brave i Elliott was credited with a
Single when Keltner fielded his slow
bounder and pulled Robinson off the
bag with a hurried throw. Umpire
Stewart at first called the runner out
but reversed bis decision when Robin
son dropped the balL Elliott was award
ed second when Lemon committed a
balk, Rickert sent Tucker almost back
to the center field wall for his long
drive and Elliott raced to third after
the catch. Salkeld bounced to Robinson,
who made the unassisted putout at
first as Elliott made no -attempt to
core. Keltner scooped up Mike McCor
mick's slow roller past the mound and
threw him out. No runs, one hit. no
errors, one left.
THIRD INNING
Indians Mitchell doubled down the
left field line. Doby sent Rickert back
against the left field wall for his tow
ering drive, but Mitchell was forced to
bold second when Rickert threw , a per
fect throw to third base. Holmes got
bis glove on Boudreau' fly inside the
right field line but failed to hold the
ball and Boudreau was credited with a
double, as Mitchell scored to put the
Indians ahead. 1-0. Gordon fouled to
Elliott behind third base. Keltner went
down swinging. One run. two hits, no
errors, one left. .
Braves Stanky walked. VoiseUe sac
rificed along the first base line. Hegan
to Gordon who covered first. Holmes
slashed a low line single to left field
but Stanky was held up at third as
Mitchell's throw came in to the plate.

Braves M. MeCormick. went down
swinging. Keltner Came In fast and
mad a nice nickuD and a fine under
hand throw while off balance to nip
the slow-moving Stanky by half a step.
Frank MeCormick went in to pinchhit
for Voiselle and bounced out to Kelt
ner. No runs, not hits, no errors, none
left.
EIGHTH INNING
Indians Warren Spahn. Sunday s
victor, went in to pitch for the Braves.
Rickert made a diving, rolling catch of
Gordon's "smash down the left field
foul line. It was Rickert's 20th putout j
of the series and tied the six-game rec
ord set by Mike Kreevicb of the 1944
St. Louis Browns. Keltner smashed a
single off Spahn 's glove. Tucker singled
to right. Keltner stopping at second.
Kooinson aroppea a single over xorger-
son s head, scoring Keltner with tne
Indians' fourth run and sending Tucker
to third. Hegan struck out swinging.
With Lemon at bat, Spahn caught
Robinson off first base with a snap
throw to Torgeson and as Tucker at
tempted to sneak home Torgeson threw
to Catcher Salkeld who trapped Tucker
between third and home. Salkeld to
Elliott to Salkeld. Tucker, who wears
glasses, broke them as he crashed into
Salkeld. One run. three hits, no errors,
one left..
Braves Holmes cracked a line single
to Reenter. Doby came in fast for Dark's
liner to right. Torgeson blasted a dou
ble to the right field corner and Holmes
was forced to hold : up at third when
Doby handled the ball nicely off the
wall. Elliott walked to fill the bases.
That was all for Lemon. Gene Bearden.

righthanded batter, went in to hit for
Rickert. Conatser sent a long fly to
Tucker in dead center. ' and Holmes
scored easily after, the catch, while
Torgeson took third. Elliott remained
at first. Phil Masi. another righthanded
hitter, batted for Salkeld. Masi rattled
a double off the left field wall scoring
Torgeson and sending Elliott to third.
Bob Kennedy replaced Mitchenn in left
field for the Indiana. Mike MeCormick
slapped a one-bouncer back to Bear
den who threw him out at first. Two
runs, three hits, no errors, two left.
NINTH INNING
Indians M. MeCormick moved over
to left field for Boston in place of Rick- ;
ert and Conatser went in to play center '
field. Masi replaced Salkeld behind the
plate. Bearden struck out. Kennedy al
so went down swinging. Doby also
struck out as Spahn retired the side on
strikes. No runs, no hits, no errors,
none left.
Braves Stanky worked the count to
three and two. then coaxed his third
base on balls of the game. Connie Ryan
went In to run for Stanky. Sibby Sisti.
a righthanded hitter, batted for Spahn.
Sisti attempted to sacrifice and sent
a low pop in front of the plate which
Hegan grabbed for . the out and then
threw to Gordon who covered first, to
double up Ryan. Holmes sent a long
fly to Kennedy who caught the ball
while backing up near the left field
wall. No runs, no hits, no errors, none
