Bids for highway project! In
Marion and neighboring counties
are being called by the state high
way commission and will be J
opened in Portland on June 28
and 29.
The DrolectJ include:
Marion county 5.49 miles of
grading and paving on the Middle
Orove-Puddine river section of
the Silverton-Salem highway.
Polk county 2.5 miles of oiling
and one mile of paving on city
streets in Dallas, Independence
and West Salem, all city projects.
Benton county 2.14 miles of
grading, surfacing and oiling on
the Fir Grove section of the Independence-Albany
road, a fed
eral aid project.
Linn county .7 of a mile of
grading and one mile of paving
on two city streets in Brownsville
and Sweet Home, city projects.
In connection with the Middle
nrove-Puddine river section, the
Marion county court late last week
aigned a resolution approving the
project and turning the Silverton
road over to the state for im-
provement as a federal aid proj -
ect.
