was independently strong; in to
day's board of trade session. Some
buying was traced to mills. Other
buying was by shorts and by com
mercial houses against sales of
cash wheat to the government.
In early trading the continued j
heavy movement of wheat in the
southwest continued to attract at
tention, but there was no indica
tion of heavy hedge selling.
At the close wheat was 4 to 1 M
higher than the previous close,
July $2.28 V4-. Corn was V to
H4 lower, July $2.27-4. Oats
were i to 1H lower, July 93H
. and soybeans were 2Vt to 8
cents lower. July $4.07.
The Commodity Credit corpor
ation reported purchase of 721,
500 bushels of wheat during the
Saturday-Monday buying hours.
