Tonight the Syrians announced that their air force had struck back in an attack on the port of Nahariya, setting big fires and sinking two boats in the harbor north of Acre. The Syrians said they also raided the settlements of Dan and Kafar Geladi in the north. (Dispatches from Tel Aviv said unconfirmed reports there were that the Jews had been compelled to turn their attention to the Egyp tian threat to their capital from the south. They said full - scale fighting had broken out in that direction. (The Israeli army said its troops had slashed into the 20-mile in land flank of the Egyptian col umn moving up the coast. The Israelis indicated the Egyptian spearhead had penetrated to near Yibna within about 14 miles of Tel Aviv, an advance of about 6i miles. The Jews said they had captured Beit Tima, three miles from the Egyptian supply road and 18 miles below Yibna. (At Lake Success it was an nounced that both Jews and Ar abs had accepted the U.
