Coming This Week
On May 18 and 1 Mrs. Vivian
Freeman of the Kerr Glass Man
ufacturing Corporation will give
complete canning demonstrations
at the kitchen of the Portland Gas
and Coke company. The meeting
on May It has been planned for
all 4-H leaders, 4-H members, and
extension unit members. Toe pub
lic is invited on May 19. These are
all-day meetings starting at 10:30
a. m
Mrs. Freeman has planned an
interesting demonstration in which
she will show the steps in all types
of canning. In addition sh will
give new information and valu
able tips. New methods for jelly
making without pectin, how to
keep good color in storage of can
ned red fruits, a new method that
will prevent peaches from turning
dark, and how to prevent liquid
from syphoning from the jars are
a few of the interestnig facts she
will present.
Questions will be answered on
jars of produce brought by any
one having a p rob kern.

the leadership training committee,
Salem district of Camp Fire Girls,
assisted by Mrs. Emmet Kleinke
and Mrs. R. F. Baxter, announces

school met May 13 to practice for
their PTA program. May 19. Other

and Jean Jones hostess; Cheery
Blue Birds took a trip to the Cher
