Mr. Strode
Married
A Salem man, Marvin L. Strode,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Strode,
took as his bride Miss Norma
Jean Hall, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. M. Ferguson of Pullman,
Wash., formerly of Salem, at a
morning ceremony on April 17.
The rites took place at Pullman
at the United Presbyterian and
Christian church with the Rev.
John Haupt officiating at 10 o'
clock. Mr. Ferguson gave the bride in
marriage and for her wedding she
chose a beige suit with mist blue
hat and grey accessories. She car
ried a white prayer book and
pinned to her suit was a brown
orchid.
Mrs. J. H. Stevens was her sis
ter's honor attendant and wore a
powder blue suit with corsage of
pink carnations. Wesley Strode
stood with his brother as best
man.
A reception was held at the
Ferguson home following the nup
tials. 1
After a wedding trip to Spo-1
kane the newlyweds will be at
home in Salem on North Winter
street.
The new Mrs. Strode attended
schools in Oklahoma and is now
employed at Montgomery Ward
and Co. Mr. Strode is a graduate
of Salem schools and recently was
released from the army. He is now
attending Merritt Davis School of
Commerce.

president ot the Oregon State
Mothers club at a meeting of the
group Monday afternoon at the
Salem Woman's clubhouse. Offi
cers elected to serve with Mrs.
Arens are Mrs. Dave Brown, vice
president; Mrs. J. H. Barrick, sec
retary, and Mrs. Carl Miller, trea
surer. Mrs. George Croisah is the
retiring president.
One more meeting is slated for
the season and will be held May
24 with a no-host luncheon at the
Mayflower hall.
Mrs. George Rossman reviewed
"The Miracle of the Bells" follow
ing the business session. Tea was
served late in the afternoon and
the table centerpiece was a mixed
spring bouquet of tulips and iris.
Founder's Day to
Be Observed
Founder's day will be observed
at the Pi Beta Phi sorority house
on the Willamette university cam
pus Wednesday night when the
actives entertain the alumnae at
a dessert supper at the chapter
house on State street at 7:30
o'clock. All alumnae in the city
are asked to call Miss Marilee
Olson at the house for reserva
tions. Miss Olson is general chair
man of the affair and a skit and
program by the actives will fol
low the supper hour.

April 28, 1867 at Monmouth col-1
lege, Monmouth, Illinois.

Masonic temple with Mrs. Mona
Yoder and William R. Newmyer
presiding. Mrs. K. I Foster, who
became a member by affiliation,
was introduced. A special musical
program was presented by Doro
thy Pederson, piano, and Bernice
Kleihege vocalist, accompanied by
Hal Ratzeburg.
