Grain Values
Drop Several
Cents Friday
CHICAGO, Feb. 20 -UP)- Sev
eral cents were chipped off grain
values on the board of trsde to
day. More favorable weather in
the winter wheat territory and
continued absence of the govern
ment from either the cash wheat
or flour markets caused moderate
selling.
At one time losses In wheat
extended to more than cents,
but a part of that drop was re
covered before the close. Some
late buying developed after Sen.
Young (R-ND) suggested the
150,000,000 carry over provision
be reduced to 100.0001000 bushels
or repealed outright.
Wheat closed 2tt-4ft lower.
May IMJV.-'i; corn was lVi
2ft lower. May $2.09Vi-; oats
were 1 cent to 14 lower. May
9 1.04 -1.03 la, and soybeans were
2 to 7 cents lower, March $3-23.
A pessimistic winter wheat re
port was received by the Norris
Grain company. It said that ap
proximately 9,000,000 acres sown
to wheat In Kansas had less than
a 50 per cent chance of produc
ing crop. The outlook in the
Oklahoma Panhandle was placed
at 50 per cent or leas of normal.
