Salem firemen Monday after
noon extinguished a gas stova fire
which had called them to a trailer
bouse at 21st and State streets.
They reported little damage to the
trailer. Firemen also ware called
Sunday night to the Rial to cafe
on downtown State street where
an electric motor fire was put out
without damage to the building.

Fines totaling $70 were meted
out in Marion county district court
Monday to two Salem men char
ged by state police with reckless
driving. Police said the two were
apprehended Sunday evening
while racing their cars along North
High and Broadway streets. James
Gilbert Tsylor, 200 Culver lane,
was fined $30 and court costs.
