annual installation banquet, which

lamette university. Mrs. Gallin

candlelight installation ceremony.
The Etokta club will meet Tues
day at the home of Mrs. P. E. Gra

UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
The musical program of the Uni
versity of Oregon radio workshop
broadcast Thursday afternoon was
produced by Marian Macy, daugh
ter of Mrs. B. W. Macy, 444 N.
18th street, Salem. She is a senior
majoring in English.

Luncheon
Past presidents of the Salem
Woman's club will be honored at
a one o'clock luncheon Saturday
afternoon. October 25, when the
club gathers for its regular meet
ing at the clubhouse. The execu
tive board meeting is slated for 12
o'clock with Mrs. Estill Brunk
presiding.
Mrs. William Leary, program
chairman, has arranged a program
on "Fire Prevention'' featuring
Jack Hayes, deputy stale fire mar
shall, and W. P. Roble. Salem fire
chiefs. Music will be furnished by
the Salem high school girls glee
club under the direction of Miss
Lena Belle Tartar.

the luncheon committee and assist

Hubbard Woman
To Be Speaker
Of interest to both men and
women will be the dinner meet
ing, sponsored by Marion county
republican women October 27, at
the statehouse coffee shop at 6:30
p. m.
The speaker is Cobre de Lespin
asse who spent sometime in Eu
rope this summer.
Mrs. de Lespinasse did juvenile
delinquency research work in The
Netherlands and England and per
sonally supervised the translation
of her book Bells of Hilmus into
the Dutch language for a publish
ing company.
She is writing a aeries of ju
venile novels. She has been a pre
cinct committee woman at Hub
bard ever since women were el

At a quiet home ceremony this
! afternoon at 3:30 o'clock Miss Ger
ry Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred D. Wolf, will become the
bride of Robert Wayne Johnson,
son of Mrs. Melvin Northey ot
Medford and grandson of Mrs.
W. F. Johnson of Salem. Dr. Dan
iel Schulze will perform the nup
tials. The couple will exchange their
vows before large windows in the
living room of the Wolf home on
Fisher road. The improvised al
tar will be banked with burgundy
and white chrysanthemums.
Mr. Wolf will give his daughter
in marriage. Of white marquisette
is the bridal gown fashioned with
bishop sleeves, a full skirt and fit
ted bodice. The gown i enhanced
with lace which edges the sweet'
heart neckline and the hemline of
the skirt. Scallops of lace extend
down. the front of the dresn. She
will wear a juliet cap of white lace
and pearls and carry white roses.
The couple will be unattended.
A reception will follow the rites.
Miss Leila Johnson and Mrs. The
odore Chamberlain of Portland
will preside at the bride's table.
The couple will leave later in
the afternoon for a wedding trip
and for going away the bride will
don a pastel blue wool jersey
dress with black accessories. Mr.
Johnson is with the Pacific Tele
phone and Telegraph Co. in south
em Oregon, where the couple will
live.

The annual fall meeting of the
Oregon Music Educators is sched
uled for Salem October 24-25 an
nounces Vernon L.; Wiscarson, vice
president of the organization and
chairman of program arranging.
Dean Melvin Geist is in charge of
Willamette university arrange
ments. Artists to be presented on the
Friday program at Waller hall at
8:15 p. m. are: Deruse Murray,
soprano of the Willamette univer
sity music faculty; the University
of Oregon faculty string quartet;
Johann Eschbach, baritone, head
of the vocal music department Of
Linfield college and Henri and
Ruth Arcand, piano duo from
Portland.
The program is free and the
public is invited to attend.
Following the concert there will
be a reception in Lausanne hall
for members of the music confer
ence, Willamette university and
friends. Miss Helen McHirron and
Mrs. Denise Murray are in charge
of the reception.
Saturday will be devoted to
meetings, clinics, elementary vo
cal music demonstrations, instru
mental music sessions and election
