Two surprise birthday parties

day. The progressive affair was
held at both the Becke and Shinn
homes with eighteen of the honor
guest's friends bidden to the

at their North 14th street home
for their club. During the evening
the group honored Mrs. Ralph

The officers, Ethel Sundlie,
Ida McClendon, Nan Denhem and
Elsie Carpenter were hostesses to
the PEP teachers' club Wednes
day night at the Boucanier at
Four Corners. Tables were de
corated with fall flowers and Hal
loween novelties.

lected. The teachers from Prospect
and Halls Ferry will be hostesses
at the next meeting, November

ternoon at 2 o'clock Miss Betty
Jean Auer, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Auer of Dallas will
become the bride of Lloyd Crabb,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ida Crabb
of Salem. The rites will be solem
nized at the Methodist church
parsonage in Dallas with the Rev.
Clark Enz officiating.
For her wedding the bride has
selected a steel grey costume suit
trimmed with silver button, for
est green accessories and a corsage
of gardenias.

the bride's honor maid and she
will wear a pearl grey suit with
black assessories and corsage of
