Silverton Progresses

the nave is patterned after old
Lutheran churches in . Europe.
Cost is estimated at $25,000. " j

meeting at Portland September
25 and 26, at the Monday night
meeting of Delbert Reeves Amer

attend the Portland meeting, but
Mrs. Powell, in capacity of pub

Other than Mrs. Powell's re

be given over to plans for the
winter, including, a proposed
rummage sale.

ries, sliced apples or what-have-you.
Mix topping of 1 cup each
flour and brown sugar with some
cinnamon; cut In cup shorten- ,
ing; sprinkle over fruit; pat
down. Bake at 350 F. about
half an hour. Easy to eat.
JIFFY APPLE PIE: Slice apples
into greased cmaaerole; sprinkle
liberally with cinnamon and
sugar, dot with butter and top
with rich pastry. So good! Make
it even better! Spread meringue
over crust of baked pie (beat
tranulated sugar into stiffly
beaten egg whites, 2 tablespoons
per white);-sprinkle with sliv
ered toasted almonds. Browa
