Wednesday from Roy Van Vleck,
1865 N. Commercial it; that his
car was hit while it was parked
in the .1200 block on North Front
st. Wednesday afternoon. The top
left side of the vehicle was

CHECKS INVESTIGATED
Salem city police Thursday in
vestigated recent passage of two
fictitious checks at local stores.
Police were informed that a $10
check was passed last week at
Broadway grocery at 1190 Broad
way st, and endorsed by L. J.
Sauer. The other investigation in
volved a $5 check cashed at the
Red Cross pharmacy, 499 State st,
signed by W. L. Ash, according to
police reports.

PEARL INGRAM DIES
Word reached Salem Thursday
of the death in Roseburg Tues
day of Pearl V. Ingram, 68, fath
er of Vernon C. Ingram of Sa
lem. The deceased was a native
of. the Roseburg community and
a retired forest service employe.
He also is survived by the widow
and two brothers.
