children was a handsome radio
phonograph. Motion pictures in
color were made of the event.

our society editor going off, we've been

girl, one of. the youngest pilots in the
United States, runs her own plane. Now

Bride Today
Planning a garden wedding this
year is an uncertain task with the
fitful August weather fluctuating
between sunlight and rain. Many
last-minute changes are in order
as bride and bridegroom plan
church or garden settings for their
nuptials.
A 3 o'clock garden wedding Is
planned today, weather permit
ting, which will united Miss Lor
raine Murdock and Robert Bailey
in marriage at the country home
of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Ronald Jones. The Rev. God
frey Mathews will perform the
ceremony.
Miss Murdock is the daughter
of Mrs. C. A. Murdock and Mr.
Bailey is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
C. A. Bailey of Brooks. Miss
Edith Fairham will sing and Jean
Hobson Rich will play the wed
ding music.
Closing the white flower-lined
aisle in the garden setting, pre
ceding the ceremony, will be Mrs.
Kenneth Buchanan and Mrs.
Donald Murdock the bride's sister-in-law,
in green and lavender pas
tel print frocks. Bridesmaids are
Miss Evelyn Johnson and Miss
Audrey Lien the bride's cousin, in
identical gowns of pale green,
carrying bouquets of Rubrum
lilies.
In pink organdy frock. Miss
Carmen Campbell, honor maid,
will precede the bride down the
isle. She will wear a picture hat
of matching pink with long,
white ribbon streamers and white
lace mitts,' and carry a bouquet
of blue delphiniums and Carioca
roses.
The bride will enter on the
arm of her brother, Donald Mur
dock. She has chosen a white
moire wedding gown fashioned
with bertha edged with accordion
pleated moire, long fitted sleeves
ending in points at the wrist, fit-
tea bodice and full skirt with
bustle in back and ending in a
court train. Her veil is of finger-
Up length illusion, held in place by
a coronet embellished with seed
pearls. She will carry a bridal
bouquet of white roses, centered
youngsters who are too young to get auto
mobile driver'3 licenses, just take out pilot's
licenses, then the sky would be the limit.

Mrs. Bailey will wear a gown of
gold color and both will wear
corsages of Talisman roses.

lations at a reception in the gar
gen. Assisting in serving will be

Ronald Jones the groom's aunt,
cutting the cake, Mrs. Lien, the
bride's aunt, Mrs. Roy Orren and
Mrs. Thelma Walter.
The bride will don a silk crepe
dress of brown, green and white
print for the wedding trip, with
brown accessories and Kelly green
coat, with a single white orchid
at her shoulder. The -couple will
motor to Bend, Crater Lake and
the Oregon Caves before return
ing to Salem where they will live.

navy blue hat with tiny bow in ,
back, navy accessories and a

rosebuds, will complete her cos-

wear a navy blue gown trimmed
in white, white accessories and
a gardenia corsage. William
Krebs will stand with Mr. Kil

The couple will motor to south

lowing which they will be at
