At Albany Tonight
Members of the Salem Saddle
club will put on a drill and assist
with the handling of a horse
show, sponsored by the Valley
Rangers and the Linn County
Mounted Sheriffs posse, at Al
bany tonight at 8 o'clock. The
trip is a reciprocal excursion in
return for the appearance of the
Linn county posse at the Cherry
Festival here, according to Gra
ham Sharkey of the Salem club.
The Salem club also will go to
Sheridan Sunday to participate in
tie Yamhill Sheriff Posse's Show
deo, a combination rodeo and
horse show. After the show the
local group will be guests at the
annual barbecue put on by the
Yamhill county riders.

Russia assailed the United States
today for its treatment of Amer
ican communists, declared that
this treatment and recently enact
ed "anti-labor" legislation were
serious- violations of human
rights.
The' attack occurred in the
membership committee of the
United Nations security council
after U. S. Representatives Hay
den Raynor had opposed the ad
mission of Bulgaria to the U. N.
and criticized the communist
dominated Bulgarian regime.
Soviet Representative Alexei N.
Krasilnikox criticized particularly
President Truman's program to
purge the government of disloyal
employes and "the recent trial of
a leader of one of the political
parties in the U. S. A."
Krasilnikov told a reporter later
that he referred to the trial of
Eugene Dennis general secretary
of the communist party, who was

amount of 89000. authorized and is
sued by virtue of matority vote of
the Wat voters of said district pursu
ant to Chapter 17. Title 111. Oregon
