Restaurant to Open
SILVER FALLS STATE PARK
Silver Creek Lodge restaurant
will May 15, Roland Nohl
gren. manager, said Sunday. The
Snack Shack, formerly known as
the community lodge, near the
restaurant, opens May 10.
The lodge restaurant will, cater
to parties of diners as well as to
single and group parties. Grey line
bus tours has scheduled a loop
trip from Portland to the park.
Big attraction in the lodge proper
is the myrtle wood furniture.

Strawberry Picking May
Start Two Weeks Early
SILVERTON HILLS, May 10
Strawberry picking in the Silver
ton Hills country, usually started
about June 1, will be underway
here by May 20, growers predict
ed this week. Shortage of pickers
is feared by some because school
will not be out. Some growers
expected the picking price will
be similar to that last year when
