intrigued me ls kippers, or ac
tually, kippered herring. They
come neatly wrapped in cello
phane and are often mfntioned in
English books. The other day I
bought a pack ige just for my own
satisfaction The package gives
rev ip'$ so I followed them.
One recipe .suggests putting the
flaked fish in- alternate layers
with cooked potato in a dish, '
covering with 'milk and baking
until done, that makes a dinner -dish.
:
The second recipe says to broil '
the fLsh for a few minutes on
each side, topping with butter
and serving hot. That was my
breakfast dish with toast and
cof fee.
The third was a suggestion for
pan frying
This fi.h is quite salty but good
in flavor and I liked it, though I
I must admit the flavor stayed
with me well into the day. I think
a sauce with hard cooked eggs '
would make it an excellent treat i
for breakfast. '
