ceived the permanent citations for
his Air Medal and the Gold Stars
ii lieu of his Second and Third
Air Medals from Secretary of the
Navy James Forrestal, for the
president, a navy release revealed
Thursday. Lt. Dunagan, current
ly serving in bombing fighting
squadron 98 with the Pacific
fleet, earned the awards taking
part in aerial action against the
Japanese forces in the vicinity of
the Nansei Shoto islands.
Sons of Norway is serving a
benefit dinner of Norwegian
Lutefisk and Swedish meat balls
with Scandinavian trimmings,

Ray Phillips, recently arrested
by Wyoming authorities, is on his
way to prison in Missouri, ac
cording to Sheriff Denver Young
Saturday. Phillips is wanted here!
on cnarges of obtaining property
under false pretenses, but was
extradited to Missouri by Wyo
ming police who then informed
Young of the action.

A group of ten Chetneketans,
Salem hiking group, led by Harry
Crontee, are scheduled to leave
at 8:30 this morning on a 75-mile
trip to Doran peak, located in the
coast range about 15 miles north
west of Dallas. Hiking distance is
about eight miles, according to
