H. Baldock. state highway en gineer. The aid in building coun ty roads was approved by the federal public roads administra tion, and includes 16 projects, ac cording to Baldock's letter. The 16 projects will total 212.3 miles of roads which includes one primary state highway, the Salem-Dallas road, route 3, in Sa lem to the county line: nine sec ondary highways, including the Salem-Silverton road; and six county roads. The Salem- Dallas project involves only .37 of a mile, but secondary highway improve ment aid will be 144.73 and 67.2 miles of county roud.. Other pro jects originally submitted for ap proval but not included in the present grants are not necessar ily out of the picture, according to Baldck. but are apparently being iven further study.
