mas pageant in three acts cli
maxed a yuletide program of Sa
lem Heights school children in the
Salem Heights community hall
last week.
The first act depicted an Amer
ican home with the children and
parents united for the first time
,-ince war. The scene was inter
spersed with Chn-tmas songs by
the chorus of 115 voices. As the
scene was concluded the Mother
prepares to tell the Christmas
story.
Second and final act-, portrayed
the Christmas story from the time
Mary and Joseph got to Bethle
hem to the manger .scene with the
gatherings of angels, wisemen,
shepherds and children of all na
tions. The pageant was directed by
the Salem Heights school teach
ers and included Barbara Lovcik
and Charlotte Jones, Muic; Awil
la Boyer, dramatics; Grace Craig
arnd and Gladys Fauand. cos
tumes; Nan Denhem, scenery.
Mrs Enid Dotson and Principal
Marion F. Miller also assisted.
Marcos de Niza, a Franciscan
friar, is believed to have been the
first white man to enter what is
now Arizona.

I begin a little before 6 a.m. or

will sing carols immediately be
fore the solemn high mass.
Other masses are scheduled fop
8, 9 and 10:30 a m. The 8 o'clock;
mass is the children's mass and
i the one at 10:30 will be a solemn,
high mass followed immediately
j by benediction. There will be no
! evening services. . j
The mass as well as special
: Christmas numbers will be sung
by St. Mary's choir at both high
1 masses.
