Presiding was John Jordan of Silverton. Inspection was con ducted by Commissioner M. B. Ford of Silverton. The opening ceremony was conducted by ex- Elorer post 60 led by Perry Wil ams, and demonstrations were given by troops 54 and 61 and by explorer post 60. Harvest Festival In Turner School To Provide Funds TURNER A Harvest festival will be held Friday at 8 p. m. In the school auditorium for the purpose of raising money for additional athletic equipment. En tertainment will consist of music by the grade school pupils and a girls' chorus and octet from the high school, directed by Lillian Zinn, Inez Cannoy, Dorothy Bar low and Leota Sloan. Featured will be a comedy movie, "Mr. Boggs Steps Out." A contest in the grade school for most tickets sold is under way. Sponsors are Sara Speck and Martha Angus. It was quite a surprise after the rain storm of Saturday and Sun day and the terrific wind. The Santiam river was rising Monday and logging operations were halted Monday because of the wind.
