decline, which got under way at
the start and progressed slowly
in light dealings.
Transfers were 970,000 shares,
only slightly above Tuesday's
910,000. The Associated Press 60
stock composite dipped .3 of a
point to 61.9.

26-year peaks were established
in both cash wheat and wheat fu
tures on the Board of Trade to-
day, although price advances in ;
most grain contracts were of mod
erate proportions.
A car of No. 1 mixed wheat,
which dealers said consisted of
about 83 per cent soft red winter
grade, brought $2.25 in the spot
markets. This was the best price
for cash wheat since. the post-war

bushel.
The January wheat contract
hit $2.133. highest for any bread
cereal future since October, 1920.

In the New York market wheat
flour prices were advanced 5 to
20 cents a sack while rye flour
was hiked 10 to 40 cents. Trade
reports said mills were having
difficulty in obtaining railroad
cars in which to ship flour.
Both cash and futures prices of
corn were steady despite fairly
heavy arrivals.
