At a ceremony held in the Cal
vary Baptist church on Saturday,
Miss Marie - Olson, daughter of
Mrs. Charles Olson, became the
bride of Gerald DeSart, son of Mr.
and Mrs. C. E. DeSart. The cere
mony was read by the Rev. L. C.
Elliot of St. Helens.
Given in marriage by her bro
ther, Arthur R. Olson, the bride
was attired in a white taffeta
wedding gown made with long
waisted bodice, full net skirt and
fingertip-length veil. The sleeves
were full at the shoulders and the
dress ornamepted at the back with
self-covered buttons. The veil
was caught by a Juliet cap. The
shower bouquet was of gardenias
and a cascade of bouvardias.
Miss Betty Van Osdol, wearing
a blue gown, and carrying a nose
gay of mixed flowers, was maid
of honor. Bridesmaid was Mrs.
Dale Lively In pink chiffon. Miss
Delores Olson, a neice of the bride
sang "Always" and "O Promise
Me."
Robert Brown was best man.
Dale Lively, Ronald Kalberg and
Warren Miller were ushers.
Mrs. Olson and Mrs. DeSart were
were wearing blue street length
dresses and corsages of gardenias
when they attended the wedding.
Mrs. R. W. Clark cut the cake
and Mrs. Marie Be r ens the ices at
the reception which was held in
the church parlors. Assisting in
serving were Mrs. George Davis,
Miss Lauretta McNance and Miss
Jean Hain. Miss Betty Steer was
in charge of the guest book and
Miss Bernice Harwood and Miss
Wanda Froehlich of the gift table.
For her wedding trip, Mrs. De
Sart wore a- grey suit with pin
stripe, black and white accessor
ies and a gardenia corsage. Thev
went to Crater lake on their wed
ding trip
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Whitesel who were married July
20. The brid9, the former Nadine Sohn. is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Sohn of West Salem and the groom Is th
son of Mrs. Florence Haines, Portland. They will live in

dice and vhite net over taffeta
skirt. The gown is made with a
lace peplum. She will carry white
gladioluses and bouvardia made
into a fan.
Miss Sadie Wieglenda will be
maid of honor for her sister. Her
dress is of aqua taffeta and flow
ers are gladioluses in pastel col
ors. Candlelighters will be Mrs. Ro
bert Heth and Miss Mae Heth.

she will wear a corsage of mixed
flowers.
