ARRESTED AGAIN
William Weigel, Shaw, was ar
rested on a charge of desertion
from the army Wednesday night
by the sheriff's office for the sec
ond time this month. On June 1
he was turned over to military
police on the same charge. Alin
Kiirch. Stay ton. was released on
$500 bail Thursday after his ar
rest on a charge of assault while
armed with a dangerous weapon.

dwindling ranks of the Oregon
Pioneer association decided today
not to disband as long as a sin
gle member of the 74-yearold
organization remains - alive.
All but one of the 60-odd pio
neers who met here today ; to
liquidate their association voted
not to do it, after all.
Mrs. Mary Myers, 94, born near
Tualatin a year after her parents
crossed the plains to the Oregon
country, was crowned queen
an honor which goes to the old
est pioneer woman present.
