On Air School

The state board of aeronautics
has no direct authority ' over
schools for the training of aviators
including flight training, which
shall be licensed by the state
superintendent of public ins true
t i o n as vocational schools for
aeronautics training, Attorney
General George Neuner held
Wednesday.
It is the duty of the state aero
nautics board, however, to pre
scribe and determine the nature
and extent of the training neces
sary to enable persons trained in
such schools to obtain pilot's lic
enses from the state of Oregon
and such training must conform
to the regulations of the board,
Neuner said.
A group of aircraft service
operators appeared before the
state aeronautics board Wednes
day, declaring that while they
were not opposed to the law un
der which, the state superinten
dent of public instruction licenses
schools, for aeronautics training;
they hoped the regulations fixed
by the board would be reasonable.
Business Would Suffer
Irving S. Allen, city attorney of
Seaside and spokeman for the
group, charged that too strenuous
regulations by the board would
result in putting many of the
smaller aircraft operators out of
business.
