auxiliary entertained the War
Mothers with a party at the
Woman's club with Mrs. Roy
belds chairman, Mrs. Zella James
gave the tribute to the monthers.
Vivian Meola, accompanied by
Lois Plummer Schmidt, sang
mother songs, and J. B. Ciary
presented the humor. The chap
ter joined the auxiliary to greet
the mothers and for refreshments.
It was voted to assist the War
Mothers with their carnation sale
Saturday. DAV auxiliary will
have the Sears and Roebuck cor
ner with Mrs. Verne Ostrander
as captain. The auxiliary also
voted to sponsor the . Poppy sale
i for the Legion auxiliary May 24.
May 10 the auxiliary will meet
i for a special meeting and to sew
at the home of Mrs. Feme Rich
ards. The nominating report was giv
en by Mrs. George Pro which
included Mrs. A. L. Brewster,
commander; Mrs. Eva Conn, sen
ior vice commander; Mrs. Charle
Peterson, junior vice commander;
Mrs. Harry McWhorter, chaplain,
and Mrs. Otto Mehlhoff, treasurer.
Salem chapter OES will meet
Saturday nrght at the Masonic
temple at 8 o'clock. Honor guests
will be the worthy grand matron
and patron of Oregon, Hazel Gra
ham of Tillamook and Sylvan
West of Portland. A group of
worthy matrons and patrons from
Portland and vicinity will b spe
cial guests. Degrees will be con
ferred during the evening. A so
cial hour will follow with Mes
dames Walter Lansing, Charles
Royer and James Manning in
charge.
BPW sewing club will be en
tertained Friday night at the home
of Miss Ida Mae Smith, 425 N.
15th street, with Miss Effie Smith
and Miss Elda Dodnll assisting.
