Leslie school pupils will pre
sent "The Forest Prince." an ope
rata based on music by Tchai
kowsky. The rather elaborate
production is under the direction
of Alfreda Wahl, music; Eleanore
Roberts, dramatics; Mrs. Ruth
Carkin. dancing; Alice Robe, scen
ery; Donald Dawson and John
Sweigert and the shop boys who
made the scenery.
The story is of the adventures
of a princess of Russia held for
ransom by the Cossacks and of
her life and romance in the forest.
Lila Partmentier is Taliana, the
princess of Russia; Bob Bain as
Vaslov, chief of the Cossacks:
Ray Cummings as Kan; Barbara
Senter as Sonia; Barbara Taylor
as Mother Vanya, and Alan Gil
christ as llytch, are Cossacks.
Phil Ringie plays Tzar Mikhail,
Jim Hunt is Prince Dmitri and
Ralph Blakeley is the jester, mem
bers of the Russian court. Scenes
take place at the Tsar's palace in
Moscow and in the forest. Color
ful costumes of the Cossacks and
the court make the play unusual
ly good for production. Some 200
pupils will take part.
